Shotgun Red's jokes are from another era, but he fit in perfectly last Friday at the Lycoming County Fair.Everything about the fair experience is a time warp, from the livestock judging to the hot sausage sandwiches to the grandstand entertainment. Not much has changed since I was a kid -- each year the ads tout that the fair is "bigger and better." But it's always pretty much the same. And that's a good thing.
Sample joke from Red: "My town is so small the vet and the taxidermist are the same person. Either way you get your dog back."
My dad would have loved it.
