How can you look at me as if I was just another one of your deals?

This is what happens when you combine nods to “West Side Story,” The Angels, Shakespeare, the melody from “Jungleland” and a National Resonator guitar.

"Romeo and Juliet" is Mark Knopfler’s masterpiece, and that is saying something for someone with his body of work. The naked emotion here is staggering and beautiful; an anthem for all the beautiful losers of the world. And I've always felt the Resonator gave this an "Every Picture Tells a Story" vibe, and that's a compliment of the highest order.

The version below does not quite match the album version as it meanders a bit, but the strings add an interesting twist and an even more resigned quality to the proceedings.
