Super Bowl MVP and Pro Bowl QB Eli Manning and I finally have something in common. We both have Plantar Fasciitis.
So, given that he is the leader on my favorite team and that I need to emulate him whenever possible, I have decided to follow whatever treatment he does.
So far I have tried:
- orthotics
- stretching
- new shoes
- cortisone shots
- acupuncture
all with limited or no success.
I am also exploring the options of shockwave therapy and surgery.
But I will follow whatever course his doctors prescribe for him. No matter that he's a 100-million dollar man, and I am a middle-aged schlub with very little tread left on my tires.
If it's good enough for Eli and the Giants, it's good enough for me. He is officially listed as day-to-day and hopes to play Sunday. Ironically, I am also day-to-day and I hope to go to work tomorrow.
The Godfather of Soul Brother was right: Time to Get on the Good Foot.

Good thing he didn't have a bunion or he might be on IR - ha!
